INTERSTAGE TRANSFORMERS |

These new designs have multiple windings which can be configured in various ways to give a range of functions. These transformers use multiple interleaved windings and the same high grade cores as our output transformers. Two chamber bobbins are used to ensure almost perfect balance between windings when used for phase splitting with push-pull output stages. Windings may be used in series or parallel to obtain the desired ratio or configuration. A high value resistive load on the secondary is sometimes useful to damp resonance effects caused by the grid capacitance and the transformer leakage inductance. The value can be determined by listening tests. The bandwidth depends on the internal impedance of the driving stage...the lower the better. These transformers are a new design using size F with the lamination stack increased by 12 mm (H).
We have introduced a new bifilar wound single ended type with exceptional bandwidth and a range of push-pull types with a 50% or 100% Mumetal core for improved dynamic range and bandwidth. Note: The maximum rms input voltage is shown at 50 Hz. This is a function of frequency so the maximum voltage is halved at 25 Hz. For size information see Power packages.
