POWER BANDWIDTH
Both Music and Speech types are designed to have excellent bandwidth and transient response the only difference being the frequency at which the maximum power can be handled without significant distortion.
NOTES ON SPECIFYING LINE TRANSFORMERS
To order please let us know the parameters listed below. Please call suppport for help with specification if necessary.
- The power required by the maximum number of speakers driven by the amplifier. It makes no difference to the transformer how many speakers are actually connected. If the load used is less than the maximum, the current drawn from the amplifier is reduced but the voltage delivered from the transformer remains at 100V.
- The nominal impedance at which the amplifier is designed to deliver this maximum power. If you get this wrong the amplifier could trip because of be over voltage or over current.
- The lowest frequency at which it is required to deliver the maximum power. If you get this wrong the transformer will saturate and cause distortion. Frequencies below the specified value must be filtered at -6 dB per octave.
- If the speakers have taps for volume adjustment this makes no difference to the amplifier or transformer. You simply use the proposed power setting of each speaker to arrive at the maximum power. Normally the maximum to allow flexibility.
MULTI WINDING TRANSFORMERS
We make several types of multi winding transformer to distribute varying levels to individual loudspeakers for Line Source loudspeakers etc.
TAPPED TRANSFORMERS FOR LEVEL ADJUSTMENT
Non-isolating (auto-wound) operating at the line level (100V or customer choice). Input and output taps may be used to provide course and fine adjustment eg: Input tap 0 or -2.5 dB and output taps in 5 dB steps giving 0 dB to -40 dB in 2.5 dB steps.
TAPPED LINE RECEIVER TRANSFORMERS
These are available
for level adjustment at loudspeaker end. Various designs are available for speech and high quality music use. |
